Young Entrepreneurs" 5th National Congress opened

Nhan Dan Online - Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs" Association (VYEA) opened its fifth National Congress for the 2014-2017 term in Hanoi on August 30, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, along with around 1,000 young businesspeople from across the country.

The congress will aim to strengthen solidarity among the association, and promote and enhance the operations of the association’s member businesses at all levels, to make greater contributions to the nation.

It also aimed to assist young entrepreneurs in overcoming the current economic crisis and to innovate and integrate into the world.

The congress elected 101 members to the Central Committee of the VYEA"s fifth tenure with Bui Van Quan, CEO of Anh Quan Group appointed as Chairman of the association.

During the previous tenure, from 2011-2014, the association launched many programmes that encouraged young people to start a business and contribute to the community. The association also contributed VND100 billion each year to charitable activities in support of disadvantaged people, disaster-affected people among others.

Starting as a young entrepreneur club with only 15 members, VYEA now has become a social organisation including nearly 10,000 members with its network spreading in all provinces and cities nationwide. Member enterprises of VYEA are creating jobs for 2.5 million people and have a total income of over US$25 billion a year.

Addressing the event, Deputy PM Phuc praised VYEA for its achievementsand its contributions to the nation.

He asked young enterprises to take the lead in renewing operations, applying high technology and enhancing competitiveness to remedy all difficulties in order to contribute to the country and integrate into the world.
